Management and staff of Taggit SA are passionate about giving back to and uplifting those less fortunate in our community and to this end we support the following initiatives:
The Vision of the Ray of Hope team is to provide an environment of hope and love for the abused, neglected and abandoned babies and toddlers placed in our care. Most importantly, during their stay with us, we guarantee that our nurturing environment gives these little ones a sense that they are special and their lives are significant.
Ray of Hope is not intended to be an orphanage, but it is essentially a transition home to look after abandoned babies while they are waiting for adoption placement. The home cares for babies and toddlers under the age of three. The home is able to care for up to 6 children at a time, under the care of a permanent house mother and father.
Ray of Hope or Imisebe Yelanga Babies Home is based in Glen Hills, Durban. NPO Number: 064-965-NPO
The Wellness Centre Trust assists homeless and destitute people back into society through numerous mobile Wellness Centres. This happens in three phases:
- Assistance with ID Book applications
- Discipleship and skills development: volunteers teach skills such as ‘make & create’ items that can be sold at markets, business skills and other skills that help generate an income. The discipleship is Christian based and mentorship is provided.
- Helping people integrate back into society by teaching job readiness, assisting with CV’s and providing platforms at markets where they can sell their products.
- Providing the destitute and homeless with hot meals and an opportunity for ministry every Sunday.
Healing (inner and external) and assistance with family reconciliation is provided as well.
